Yesterday, Gunnar and his best friend, Caden
met up with Gunnar's Gal, Kyle
to feed the ducks,
ride the train,
meet a new friend,
and be together.
Feeding the ducks, and getting up close and personal with a peacock were two highlights for sure,
but the most anticipted part of the excursion was waiting for and riding the train.
Too bad it got real dramatic real fast when Gunnar was told he could not drive the engine.
But the tears really started falling when the ride started. Gunnar was whimsically allowing his ticket catch the wind off the side of the train and a quick gust whistled it away. He cried the rest of the ride. Loudly. (Despite everyone's best efforts to console him, thanks Matt, April, and Kate, the only thing he wanted was that "special" ticket. April even pulled out another ticket from her pocket, but like you all know, Gunnar can spot an imposter like it was his job.)
Everyone else was completely enchanted by the ride.
Kyle hung on tight to her ticket. Good girl. Smart girl.
Caden could have cared less about his ticket. Easy-going boy. Sweet boy.
To add insult to injury we had left Bobby at home in the wash (the nerve of me, and I call myself a responsible mother). Needless to say, it took him a while to settle down. After the adventure we found an AWESOME bagel shop and had a very delicious lunch. Our outing had it all: good friends, good times, and good eats. I know that Gunnar loves his friends very much; I love mine too. Thanks for the fun day; when can we get together again? ;)

I love all the pictures. And your Gunnar is alot like my Jillise. Little things can REALLY set them off. It's what makes them special.
What a magical afternoon! Gives me a good case of spring fever. I love the low down shot of the approaching train--looks like you might get run over--such danger :)! Funny that Gunnar's best friend is Caden. We have good friends with two boys: Gunnar and Kayden.
Our youngest son sounds a lot like yours--emotions very close to the surface and needing his 'lovie' blanket (which is really one of my old tops!). They are sweet that way, even if a bit loud :).
Kam,
GREAT pictures!!! I wanted to pick a favorite, but I absolutely cannot. There are too many amazing shots. I love the commentary, but since I know the brood, you could get away with just the pics because they do a great job of telling the story itself.
What a great day. Nothing quite like birds, babes, and bagels, right?!
Thanks for documenting a very fun day! Irvine Regional Park is a great place for the whole family. Kind of a hidden gem. We must have a repeat performance.
Great pics, Kam... I love that lil' Gunnar is such a passionate boy--that photo of his teary face is awesome...
Note to self: I realize I've spent too much time on the internet when I recognize Caden from Becker's blog.
I love these shots. So good! You really captured the day [I can just hear the tantrum now.]
I love the butt crack shot/diaper shot. I think I show that side of myself a lot - geez, the styles these days.
Kamee--you are truly an artist. Love your camera work. Hope you can take our picture sometime.
Kam- The colors in these photos are great! So vibrant and fun! We had a fantastic time and can't wait to play again. Thanks!
look at them sweet tears...
very cute pics and a fun date among these precious little people...

We will send you the Adali Trolly song for this clip, it's looks like they are all waiting for a ride, fun story! We also think that you should stalk that peacock and get him if FULL tail spread and color! Also, how about "Singing in the Rain" for some of the red bumper shoot snaps. So much fun, thank you for sharing. XOtheP's
