It is always hard to say goodbye to a friend especially for me. I recieved word this week that someone close to my family experienced life's end. My heart has been aching at the shocking passing of a close family friend.
It was a refreshing gift to be able to spend some time today with a new mom and her sweet, brand-new baby. While I photographed and we chatted I couldn't help but wonder what life this little man would lead. What experiences he would have. What lives he would change. What love he would feel. What joy would he know.
I remarked silently on the fragility of life, the tenderness of breath, the delicate strings of existance.
Annika- Thank you for sharing your baby with me; it was a pleasure being surrounded by the newness of life.

We just lost a close friend on July 2nd. I know your pain and my prayers go out to you. The sweet picture is just a reminder of the circle of life.
Could anything be more precious? I want to eat him up. Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.

that picture just gets me baby hungry. I love how soft and sweet babies are, and you sure captured it.
