At Last

I sorted through 4,000 wedding images, got them organized, and found a few favorites to share. A tremendous, thank-you shout out goes to my second shooter and friend, Ashley, who is so humbly talented, and such a good and nice person. Ash- I was so happy to be able to work with you again. Thank you for being there, for capturing so many great moments, and for supporting me in this endeavor; I am grateful for you.
Anne and Dale, these are for you. May they evoke very special memories from a very special day.
Ashley and I arrived early to get a few details and then to snap Anne getting ready. Dale was ready before we got to him; excited, were you Dale?
Photobucket
Something I have always admired about Anne is her sweetness and her ability to remain calm; her voice stays at the same level no matter the situation. She was as mellow as she could be on her wedding morning.

Another detail of her exquisite flowers, pre-ceremony.

We arrived at the venue early and they wouldn't allow us to go in. Anne, in true Anne form, remainded as cool as a cucumber and waited patiently for our turn. Her focus was so on Dale and their love that little hiccups couldn't even threaten wedding day destruction. ;)
Once we got there Anne headed to take care of a few final details, major ones actually like putting on her dress and a last coat of lip stick.
Photobucket
There were over 400 buttons on her dress, I am sure. Anne's mom and sister had to use a button puller to get each one through.

While Anne was finishing up Dale entertained guests, and waited, somewhat patiently, for the appearance of his bride. :)
Photobucket
The ceremony was lovely and perfect for Anne and Dale.
Photobucket
My favorite part was how emotional Dale was. He was touched at the sight of Anne and had a hard time composing himself for the rest of the wedding. He is so smitten and in love with this woman. I love that!!
Photobucket
Love! Love! Love this one!!

The celebration was full of sweetness,

pieces of heaven,

and a couple very much in love.

Anne looked beautiful,

and her shoes were stinkin' cute. (Although I bet she was ready to kick them off at the end of the day. ;))
Photobucket
Dale looked quite dapper himself.
Photobucket
After the ceremony and party we had the bride and groom to ourselves for a few pictures at the beach. We started at the Ritz and then made our way down to the water.

Anne and Dale remember as you continue to "walk off into the sunset" together that you each are carrying a new heart.
A favorite in honor of you and your love:
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)
i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
e. e. cummings
May you live "happily ever after"...

Thanks again for the opportunity and experience- xoxo Kam

Because I Can't Help It: A Sneak Peek

It is 12:01am. I have a huge paper due by midnight tomorrow for grad school, two suitcases in need of packing for our trip to Utah on Sunday, very sleepy eyes, and 4,000+ images from last Saturday's wedding to proof and organize, but I couldn't help sharing a sneak peek from my shoot today.
If I wasn't already in "a family way", I would be trying really hard to get myself there after meeting Baby Preston.
Photobucket
I should have warned you to not look if you get baby hungry easily.
Photobucket
His mom is sure smitten; who wouldn't be? I was.
Photobucket
Love. That's what little babies are: love.
Photobucket
That's just a taste of that yum-a-licious baby. I promise to deliver more Baby Preston, more wedding, and more adventures of a mom and son trip to Utah to take care of three nieces while her sister, brother-in-law, and parents go to Greece.
Off to bed to dream of babies...

Deposits

Gunnar is officially making deposits in the urinal bank.
Photobucket
This is really, really big news!! Only those of you with children will understand, but I get all giddy and happy inside when I hear the pee hit the water. I am just so stinkin' proud. This is right up there with sleeping through the night, eating solids, watching an entire tv show, earning an Eagle Scout, graduating from high school, attending Harvard, marrying a Rockafeller, and owning a multi-million dollar company. Gunnar, we couldn't be more happy for you. ;)
He is pretty proud of himself too.
Photobucket
Too be honest I was over diapers on a 3 year old. It was getting old. (I know I will have a child back in diapers soon, but this is so refreshing.) I also think he looks so stinking cute in underwear, like a big little boy.
He sports Thomas, Jack Sparrow, and plain grey, black, and charcoal Hanes boxers that are very Calvin Kleinesque, when he is feeling a little more GQ.
Photobucket
I never thought I would have been more thrilled for another person and his ability to relieve himself independently. Congrats Gunnar on another huge milestone. You are the King, mighty on your throne.
It is hard work though getting your bladder to connect to your brain.

Gunnar, your future is bright son. We knew you wouldn't go to prom in a diaper. Congrats boy, congrats.
