The Patch

Gunnar's first Halloween was, of course, filled with a lot of enthusiasm. As new parents we wanted to introduce him to every festivity we could think of. One weekend we took him to a local pumkin patch with some of our good friends. That year, round, orange gourds were a little intimidating. (Or maybe he was just upset at the outfit I had selected for our harvest outing.;) But, come-on, who could resist a pumkin-head baby with such fat cheeks I ask you?)

This year, to eliminate any more disturbing pumpkin experiences, I bought him one of those drinks that come with little umbrellas in them. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS AT THE PATCH TODAY! Wow! Come to think of it he was as giddy as he could be. Lauging. Slurring his 45 words together. Stumbling everywhere. Yeah. It was great. That drink was magic; it did the trick!

The best part was when he started using the pap-
er garnish as an actual umbrella.

Seriously, the patch was full of sober fun! ;)

Pre-School is not for the weak, Gunnar! Be brave my son.

A big-shout out to my offspring! He made it to preschool without crying when I dropped him at the door. That makes two days in a row; that's blogworthy!

This is the face I usually got when I dropped him off. Not anymore. Not anymore.
See Gunnar? I told you eating paste would be fun.

Hey out there in Bloggerland!!

Photograph by Jessica Claire

This is my family. I am on the one on the right! ;) HA! I'm killing myself. I decided to start a blog at 12:47am. My humor might not come off as all that humorous. Humor me.

After sorting through a myriad of others' blogs (Jessica Claire's, Becker's Photography, and all of my girlfriends' being my favorites) I decided to start my own. I usually am a little late to join the bandwagon: I didn't start wearing teal green or blue eye-liner in the 7th grade when it was cool; I waited a year until it had definitely passed its fashion moment. I didn't discover the Harry Potter books until the third hit bookshelves, in fact, a girlfriend had to explain to me who he was. I didn't buy a single Shade shirt until all the women in Utah had every color and style. Oh, and I never started the South Beach Diet. (That's one bandwagon I never even followed for a second; I have no will-power. I love carbs in all their varying glory.) I dropped the green/blue eyeliner years ago, I haven't finished the Harry books (I know, and I call myself literate.), and my Shade shirts mostly have yellowed pits. Let's see how well I do with keeping this up. ;)
Here's to many posts from me on my new blog!!
